Background:

Forest City Film Festival (FCFF) brings together the best work of film artists connected to Southwestern Ontario in a juried competition for features, shorts, documentaries, short documentaries and short animations. Additionally, FCFF presents a selection of the best Canadian films of the year, industry workshops and networking, a screenplay competition, filmmaker Q&As, receptions and awards. Due to the pandemic, in 2020, the Forest City Film Festival went virtual.

Goals:

The first key goal for this virtual event was to get the word out that the festival was in fact still on, just in a new way. The second goal was to sell digital tickets for this online event.

Tactics:

Wychwood was brought on to create and manage a YouTube campaign. Within the YouTube platform, a strategy was created to target users based on interests, demographics and location. A comedic video series titled “The Festival Your Way” was used to grab the attention of potential attendees so they could picture themselves attending this event and having some fun while at home.

Results:

81,194 Video Views

Anne-Marie jumpstarted the Forest City Film Festival's Youtube ad campaigns in 2019 and her insights into how we can best use our video content are a gamechanger for us. We've reached audiences all across Canada through her meticulous work and outside-of-the-box ideas. She is a valued member of our Marketing Committee and has brought brilliant ideas to the table. It's been a fabulous journey working with Anne-Marie, a journey that we hope will continue on for many festival seasons to come!
